Eurovision 2021 - Semi Final 2 - 4. Greece

4. Greece

Qualifying Record: 12/14

Qualifying Record 50/50 era: 4/6

Running Order Record 50/50 era: 5/12

Current Country Streak: 1 Q

Current Running Order Streak: 1 Q

Greece had an amazing streak finishing in Top-10 from 2003 to 2011. Last time that Greece landed in Top-10 was back in 2013...That says something about the momentum.

Stefania hopes to bring Greece back to its former glory with the help of Kontopoulos and Fokas Evaggelinos. Last Dance is one of the many entries this year that have that 80's nostalgia sound.

Born and raised in Netherlands is an extra advantage for Greece, making Stefania a de facto second Dutch entry.

This is the easiest SF of the year and Greece will sail to the Final finishing somewhere between Top-3/5 with the PV and 6-8 with the Juries.

Will qualify because...the quality is there, it's the only entry apart from the Netherlands that has a home advantage.

Will not qualify because...running order is a bit tricky. Producers are shuffling the order though giving an advantage in slot no4 instead of no5.

Czechia and Austria with their staging impress Televoters and Juries respectively and sandwich Greece.

Realistic expectations for the Semi: 3rd - 6th

Interesting Facts about the Running Order: It is a jury favoured slot, but Greece has the quality to perform well both with Juries and Televoting. Funny enough of the 4 entries that ranked in Top-10 with the Juries, the 3 were in the podium.

What happens next...: If and when Greece qualifies to the Final, finishing 18th or better will be the best result since 2013. The super optimistic goal is a place in Top-10.

Fokas Evaggelinos has promised to present something that we have never seen before in Eurovision, but that could be anything. There was the same speculation back in 2017 when part of the staging never made it to Ukraine, so we have to wait and see the rehearsals.

A realistic goal for Greece would be a left-hand side placing or worst-case scenario, Top-15.

A drug dealer is pointing at you with a gun and threatens to kill you if you don't predict the Final Ranking: 11th - 20th

Some More Data: There was a time that 120 points was the minimum that Greece would take and that is with the old voting system, meaning somewhere between 200-240 points with the 50/50.

In the 50/50 era  Greece hasn't received more than 100 points neither has finished higher than 14th either with Juries or Televoting...
