Bulgaria is running its most successful streak with 3 qualifications of the 4 that has in total. If someone said back in 2013 that Bulgaria will be a Eurovision powerhouse within the next two contests, people would have laughed at them...
Growing Up Is Getting Old is the kind of song that ticks many Eurovision favourite boxes but still is an out of the box entry. Victoria fought for it, and she made a wise choice to to go for this one.
It is a bit darker than the average viewer's taste, but it has the potential for a magical staging and be the song that steals the win from the other favourites.
Bulgaria has an exceptionally good recent history of staging, and they are after a win. This could be the dark horse of this year. Tuesday 11th of May will be the D-Day for Eurovision this year.
Will qualify because...It has the quality, the staging, and the narrative.
A few friends are also in the SF.
Will not qualify because...if that happens, it will be a loss for Eurovision, not only for this year but also for the years to come.

What happens next...: Unless something really shocking happens, Bulgaria will be in the Final, fighting for the win and/or a great result. I don't know if Bulgaria can win the contest (it can in an open year), but I cannot see how Bulgaria will fail to be in the Top-4/5 minimum. One of the 5 most important first rehearsals of the year.

Some More Data: Bulgaria has only qualified to the Final 4 times, but 3 of these times finished in Top-5. Any other year their 2017 score would be more than enough to secure the win. They have a mixed bag of results between Juries and Televoting.
Never scored less than 100 points or left outside Top-10 with Juries, something to keep in mind.
